The U.S. government has purchased 650,000 additional doses of Eli Lilly and Company's (NYSE: LLY) neutralizing antibody bamlanivimab (LY-CoV555) 700 mg. The purchase agreement is for $812.5 million and the doses will be delivered through January 31, 2021, with at least 350,000 of the additional doses delivered in December 2020.

Janssen-Cilag International N.V., part of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, has initiated a rolling submission with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for its investigational single-dose vaccine candidate for the prevention of COVID-19.
The EMA's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) enabled a rolling review of the investigational single-dose Janssen COVID-19 vaccine candidate based principally on positive non-clinical data showing that the vaccine candidate elicits a robust immune response, as demonstrated by neutralizing antibodies.

AZD1222 vaccine met primary efficacy endpoint in preventing COVID-19

Positive high-level results from an interim analysis of clinical trials of AZD1222 in the UK and Brazil showed the vaccine was highly effective in preventing COVID-19, the primary endpoint, and no hospitalisations or severe cases of the disease were reported in participants receiving the vaccine. There were a total of 131 COVID-19 cases in the interim analysis.
